Film Nevada County Launches

For the past many years NCM has been working on a program that brings paid filmmaking to the doorsteps of our local community. This was and is not a simple fix. We needed to build our assets……and not just locations. Those we have an abundance of.

Our focus has been on our crews and actors. In order to facilitate this, NCM has been slowly working on launching a film school, but not your average film school. Our program puts people right into the mix of creating with professional mentors and peers who are out there creating. Think of our school as on the job training. Those individuals who can learn, grow, and if they can do their jobs well they are added to our assets list…..where they are recommended for paid gigs.

We know this process works, we did it on a project in 2017 that went on to pick up numerous awards worldwide. We know we already have numerous individuals who make a living creating. What we are focusing on are on those who want to learn and create.

This program offers a way for creators to tap into a network of people who can help them create their films. A variety of on-camera actors and crew who are explanding their skillset. Those have been the things lacking to make Nevada County an amazing filmmaking community.

This January, NCM launches several workshops and activities that focus on both acting and crew, as well as helping our creatives with writing, editing, and more.
