This is an informative session on NMOS (Networked Media Open Specifications) — the open specifications driving interoperability in IP-based video production. Whether you’re new to NMOS or already using it, you’ll learn what’s new, how it’s evolving, and why staying up to date is essential if you're working in modern broadcast and AV-over-IP environments.

About the presenter:

Jed Deame is the co-founder and CEO of Nextera Video, the leading supplier of IPMX, ST 2110 and NMOS FPGA IP cores.  Jed was active in the development of the SMPTE ST 2110 standard, and the preceding VSF Technical Recommendations.  He is currently on the VSF IPMX Committee and a Board Member of the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), driving advancement and adoption of NMOS.  He is also active in the AIMS IPMX working group.

Before joining Nextera, Jed served at the VP/GM level at RGB Spectrum, Barco, and Teranex/Silicon Optix, where he invented the Emmy Award-winning Video Computer.  Jed received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the University of Central Florida.

Have you ever dreamed of starting your own show series? If so, this is the perfect place to start.

Each year NCM sets aside a day to record pilot episodes for a variety of new shows. Shows must be 25 minutes or less. They can be conversations (talk shows), tutorials, news/information shows, or comedy skits and monologues. There will only be so many slots, so don't hesitate on this one. These are “live-record” shows, which means one take. Every show must go through a pre-producrion meeting prior to the recording date. Cost $25

NCM offers a free certification class for those who wish to use our facility for DIY creation. Certification is required prior to use. See the calendar for dates. Other times are avaialble at a fee or $25. Registration is required. Late arrivals are not permitted to attend.

You will learn the operation of the small greenscreen studio and equipment associated with that studio and a short overview of how to use the Large studio AV system and facility for rentals.
