Dom Jackson is a product management professional with over ten years of success in developing and managing technologies for content production and distribution in the Media and Entertainment space. He has extensive knowledge of file based and live workflows for streaming and traditional linear distribution and an expert in established and emerging technologies for media production and distribution. Dom is the VP of Products and Services at Cinnafilm.

The Democratic Women of Nevada County will host a “Meet the Candidates” evening on March 3rd at NCM. This interactive forum will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from the Congressional Candidates running in our County. All VOTERS are welcome! Tickets are free online. Donations are always welcomed.

Each year we expand what we do for the community. Our funds are low but our hearts are plentiful. NCM is always seeking collaboration with fellow nonprofits and members of the community and each year we put out the call for our free and low cost support. This deadline is approaching. Don't miss this amazing opportunity!

NCM is seeking proposals for items that you need our help with. They can be as simple as a place to use for meetings and events to media services for a particular project, etc. Each year we take on a few requests for free, others we do for a small fee. This is when we also review any collaboration requests that come through during the year. We make a plan for what we can add for the upcoming year…..and that it doesn’t break our support for all the other stuff we are doing. All requests will be reviewed in January. Our goal is to review each one and reach out to you with a solution.

The deadline to submit is February 26, 2026 by 5pm. A simple one page request with a brief description of what you are thinking is all we need to get the ball rolling. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing if we can help with your needs. Submissions can be sent to stationmanager@nevadacountytv.org

NCM is holding an open casting call for an exciting new program for kids. This volunteer project currently requires individuals to be available a few hours once a month. Most roles will be voice only, but they will require live interaction with the audience.

If interested simply show up to the open casting call with the character in mind that you would like to audition for. We will have a simple script for you to use. Please be prepared to engage with an audience of kids.

Animations Come Alive is a youth oriented educational and entertainment program that combines the skills of actors that engage with the audience (but are never seen), actors that engage with the audience (that are seen), and the technical team behind the show that drive the animations.

This show is set in Owlhoot Hollow, where the characters each have their own personalities. The audience will be taken on a fun journey that they can participate in. This program is geared towards children 4-7 years old.

Roles

NCM is currently seeking individuals who would like to volunteer for a monthly program.

Rowan the Magnificent - Deer

Rowan is the lead figure and mentor for all of the characters. He has a bit of magical powers and oversees the care for the forest.

Spry the Collector - Rabbit

Spry is a young energetic collector of random things. He always finds a way to get in a bit of trouble but with the help of the audience and his friends he always finds his way out of it.

Male 16-25

Clover the Beautiful - Fox

Clover is a bit on the reserved side, compared to her energetic companion Spry. She is always trying to find and share the beauty around her.

Nook the Organizer - Forest Gnome

Nook is a character that the kids see and engage with in the room. He is the organizer and MC of the program.

About Ken: Last November, I faced a crossroads. I had closed my data consulting business and hiked the Pacific Crest Trail with my daughter following a personal loss. I needed to figure out what comes next.

I realized that I wanted to focus on communities, and specifically nonprofits, as they were the ones tackling the hard issues that matter most.

The answer became clear: I could combine my passions for teaching and technology with my decades of nonprofit involvement to give organizations the skills to use AI – amplifying their work without compromising their mission or reputation.
