Volunteering with NCM

The NCM board is an oversight position. Board members can also volunteer for one of our many volunteer positions if they wish. Board members on occasion attend or get involved with events. The NCM Board meets once a month 2-4 hours. Either in person or virtually.

NCM Ambassadors are the eyes and ears of the organization. They attend events, share information, give tours, and more. They meet with the NCM board and staff to share insights of what the community needs, as well as share to the community what NCM can do for them.

This position requires some production, post-production, or producing experience. You will be working directly with the NCM interns on specific projects teaching them the technical and creative aspects.

This position requires strong computer and phone skills. The tasks include data entry, filing, answering phones, cable programming, member outreach, giving tours, and more. This is a great position for people who want to get acquainted with all we do at NCM.

This position requires computer skills and general video and audio knowledge. We are looking for individuals to help with troubleshooting, computer maintenance, and general items to keep a production facility running.

Are you someone who likes building and fixing things? This position doesn’t require massive construction skills, but you do need general handyman skills. We work on construction and set building once a month.

NCM has several signature events that are in need of coordinators. They are fairly simple events that are easily managed, and a ton of fun.

This position helps with all things related to letting the community know what is happening at NCM. Writing articles, calendar postings, flyer creation, social media, etc.

Consider attending a casting call for NCM show hosts. These once a month programs are easy and fun. Watch the NCM calendar for castingdates and times.

Grants are a great way to launch new programs, as well as maintain old ones. NCM creates projects and programs around grants that have an educational or media component. We need help finding and writing them. NCM also works with community partners to create projects for their grant needs.

If you are someone who likes finding good deals, this may be the perfect position for you. This position helps seek out donations from manufactures and businesses. This isn't just approaching local businesses, it is reaching out beyond Nevada County.

This position is a vital role at NCM. It requires maintaining the member spreadsheet, creating the newsletter, hosting the member night, communication with members, and involvement in creating programs.

This position requires organizational and people skills. Production and post-production knowledge is helpful. This position will be working with NCM staff and the stakeholders group on a variety of projects. This is currently a volunteer position that can work into a paid position for the right individual.

This position requires the individual to be out in the community soliciting and gathering information for the Film Nevada County program. This is a volunteer position that has the potential to work into a paid position for the right person.

This position requires the individual to have photography skills. They are capturing the location images used in the Film Nevada County portfolio. This is a volunteer position to start but has the potential for a paid position.
